Now Accepting 2025-2026 Season Submissions
The spotlight’s on YOU! We’re calling for daring, dynamic, and deeply human stories to take center stage in our next season, especially productions that explore power differentials and imbalances in fresh, thought-provoking ways.

Submissions are being requested this fall so that selected productions can be announced at Inspiration’s Edge’s January 2026 Annual Season Announcement Event.

If your work can spark conversation, stir emotions, and thrive in unexpected spaces, we want to see it. Please read the guidelines below for full details on what we’re looking for before sending your proposal.

The deadline for submissions is midnight on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2025. Don’t miss your cue!
Production Submission Guidelines
Calling all inspired playwrights, directors, and co-creators!
We’re always on the lookout for bold, heartfelt, and imaginative productions that align with our mission to celebrate diverse voices, spark meaningful conversations, and bring theatre to unexpected places.

As a mobile community theatre founded in co-creativity and accessibility, we especially love pieces that reflect the spirit of the Hi-Desert; gritty, hopeful, inclusive, and willing to take risks.

Before you submit, we encourage you to get to know us a little better. Explore our past productions, follow us on social media, or — better yet — come see a show. As a mobile theatre serving in the Hi-Desert, we value work that is bold, inclusive, locally connected, and creatively flexible.

Currently, we’re particularly interested in shows that:

-
Can be staged with no more than 8 actors (with flexible casting a plus!)
-
Are one-act or full-length (please note we are not currently seeking short 10-minute pieces or standalone monologues unless part of a larger proposal)
-
Can thrive in nontraditional or found spaces
-
Support collaborative development with our creative team

Who Can Submit
We welcome submissions and proposals from:
-
Playwrights with original one-act or full-length plays
-
Directors with a show concept they'd like to bring to life
-
Musicians/Composers with original work that could be incorporated into a theatrical experience

We accept submissions year-round, though programming is planned seasonally. We recommend submitting at least 4–6 months before you'd ideally like the work produced.
What We're Looking For
While we’re open to a wide range of genres and formats, we especially seek:
-
Stories centered on community, identity, resilience, power imbalances, and connection
-
Work by or focused upon historically excluded voices
-
Performances with flexible casting, ensemble focus, or nontraditional staging
-
Scripts or projects with local relevance
We encourage proposals that reflect collaborative spirit, community involvement, and creative risk-taking.

We kindly ask that you only submit if one of the following applies:
-
You are responding to an official call for submissions (e.g., for season programming or a themed series), or you have been directly invited by Inspiration’s Edge.
-
You are a local playwright based in the Hi-Desert or Coachella Valley, submitting a full-length or one-act play.
-
You are a director proposing a specific production you wish to helm.
-
You are a potential financial sponsor proposing to support a specific production.

What You Can Expect
As a young and mobile theatre company with limited resources, we have to be especially mindful of what we can realistically produce. This means we give priority to shows with small casts, minimal technical requirements, and low production costs. Since we rely on a dedicated but small team of volunteers, we must also carefully consider whether we have the person power to bring a project to life.

While we review every submission with thought and care, we’re only able to respond to those that clearly align with our mission and current capacity. If we’d like to move forward, we will reach out to request a full script and production budget proposals. If you don’t hear back, please know that your work was still given sincere consideration.

We’re truly honored you’d consider Inspiration’s Edge as a creative home for your work and we hope the right opportunity to collaborate is just around the corner.
