There’s always something special about a “first.” The first read-through. The first time voices blend together. The first moment when an idea begins to feel real.

And for Inspiration’s Edge, this one carries even more meaning: Harmonies of Home is our very first cabaret.

This week, we gathered for our first full cast and crew rehearsal, and what unfolded was something we won’t soon forget. There’s an energy that comes with stepping into new territory, and you could feel it in the room: excitement, intention, and a shared commitment to creating something meaningful together.

From the very start, it was clear this is a group of incredibly talented performers, supported by a thoughtful, organized, and deeply aligned production team. Watching everything begin to come together with care given to every detail was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when talent and co-creativity meet.

One of the most touching elements introduced at this rehearsal was the invitation for cast members to bring personal family photos to be incorporated into the set; pieces of real lives, real memories, and real connection. It’s a beautiful reflection of what Harmonies of Home is all about: the people, places, and moments that shape us.

Under the direction of Scott Clinkscales, the music is already beginning to take shape in a truly special way. Each song has been thoughtfully selected, creating a collection that feels both intimate and universal; perfect for a cabaret that centers on connection, comfort, and belonging.

Behind the scenes, our crew and production team are already doing what they do best: bringing structure, support, and seamless coordination to every moving part. It’s clear that this isn’t just a talented group, it’s a well-organized one, and that makes all the difference as we bring our very first cabaret to life.

We are also incredibly grateful to Yucca Man Records for generously providing sound equipment and microphones. Their support is helping ensure that every note, every lyric, and every story is shared clearly and beautifully.

On a personal note, I’m deeply honored to be serving as Production Chair for this endeavor (at IE this is essentially the role of producer/production manager) and to have the opportunity to support this incredible team as it all comes together. It’s a privilege to help hold the container for such meaningful, collaborative, and high-quality work.

As we continue rehearsals, there’s a growing sense that this show is going to be something truly special, not just because it’s our first cabaret, but because of the obvious heart behind it.

To our director, production team, and cast: thank you. Thank you to those who have been part of the Inspiration’s Edge journey and continue to show up with dedication and care. And thank you to those joining us for the first time; your talent, energy, and trust in this process means more than you know.

Harmonies of Home is already living up to its name—and we can’t wait to welcome you in. One day only, two performances. Purchase your tickets here.
