Now that everything’s wrapped and we’ve struck the cozy little living room we built together, I’ve been sitting with a real sense of accomplishment.

Creating and directing Harmonies of Home for Inspiration’s Edge was a genuinely special experience. From the start, it was clear this wasn’t going to be a typical production, and that’s what made it so meaningful.

To my cast: I’m really proud of you.

Working within a mobile theatre model isn’t easy. You’re not stepping into a traditional stage environment with a consistent rehearsal rhythm. You’re constantly adapting to new spaces, shifting energy, and a process that asks for lots of flexibility and trust. That adjustment takes time, and it’s completely normal that it did.

But eventually everything came together.  You found your footing. You trusted each other. And you brought something honest and grounded into the room. It didn’t feel over-produced; it felt real. That’s what people connected with.

To the crew and everyone behind the scenes: thank you for the amount of work you put into making this happen.  There were a lot of moving pieces, and you handled them so well. The space felt so very welcoming because of you. The details mattered and people noticed the care and intention given to them.

I also want to thank those who stepped up and wore more than one hat to keep the tea party and silent auction running smoothly. That kind of behind-the-scenes work isn’t easy and often goes unseen, but it made a real impact to the whole experience.

To the audiences: thank you for showing up and being part of it. This kind of show asks you to lean in a little more, and you did. For a little while, you became part of our family.

And to Inspiration’s Edge: thank you for trusting me with this project. It’s clear how much care you put into your work and your community, and it was a privilege to be part of it.

At its core, Harmonies of Home is about connection about the different ways we define and experience the concepts of home and family.

And for a moment, we got to create our version of both of them through theatre.
